Job description

Operational Excellence Specialist

Location: Lake Jackson, Texas

Salary: $76,400 - $115,000 Schedule: 5/8s or 9/80s Relocation Available

Focus: The Operational Excellence Specialist is responsible for driving continuous improvement in manufacturing performance through the development, implementation, and sustainment of Asset Operations work processes and site performance metrics. This role partners closely with manufacturing, maintenance, reliability, engineering, and quality teams to ensure assets are operated consistently, safely, and efficiently in accordance with defined standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Support and advance the Asset Operations work process by identifying execution gaps, improving standard work adherence, and enabling consistency across the site
  • Strengthen quality systems and process consistency by supporting RCA, standardization efforts, and QMS requirements while promoting proactive defect prevention
  • Develop and utilize operational metrics, dashboards, and data analysis to identify loss drivers, reduce variability, and support data-driven decision making
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and SPC tools to improve process stability, reduce defects, and enhance overall performance
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, and EHS to drive sustainable improvements in asset performance, quality, and operational discipline

Position Requirements:

  • Must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, or a related technical field OR
    • Associate's degree in operations or related technical field plus 5+ years' experience in quality or SAP related role
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations in a chemical or process industry environment
  • Working knowledge of Asset Operations, operational discipline, and reliability focused operating practices
  • Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), including procedures, audits, document control, and compliance requirement
  • Proficient in Lean manufacturing principles, including 5S and waste elimination
  • Prior Olin experience in a related position preferred
  • Must possess a valid US driver's license
