Your responsibilities

Salary: $105,000 - $115,000 (based on experience)

POSITION SUMMARY: Leads and drives Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement initiatives including TKPS/OPX, Lean/Six Sigma, structured problem solving, and cross-functional improvement projects - working closely with plant leadership teams and department employees. Supports the Quality and Management Systems Manager in selected Quality Management System activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and deliver service improvement activity across the business through employing process improvement methodologies (6 Sigma, SMED, 6S, VSM) and the application of innovative thinking.
  • Understand the ThyssenKrupp Production System (TKPS), the tk drive framework for Operational Excellence (OPX).
  • Leads the integration of TKPS methods, systems and practices into operations at all levels.
  • Design, install and debug programs and tools as it relates to process improvements.
  • Execute/facilitate internal/external annual OPX scans with management team members, others.
  • Support external OPX scans at other tk facilities, as required.
  • Train and educate all associates in OPX/TKPS/drive methods, practices and systems.
  • Use the tk drive share point as a communications and training tool.
  • Coordinate and lead key projects for improvement in operations, as well as other business areas. Supervises several teams or collaborates with managers to re-engineer processes.
  • Partner with IT and functional departments to identify and implement digital tools, data analysis, dashboards, automation, and system improvements that support Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Assist the Quality and Management Systems Manager with the following:
    • Internal and external auditing
    • Supplier approval and evaluation
    • Corrective actions
    • Documentation

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Five years of related experience and/or training in a manufacturing setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Lean/Continuous Improvement methodologies and tools, including Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 6S, SMED, and DMAIC/root-cause analysis.
  • Experience leading cross-functional improvement projects and driving measurable operational results.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Experience supporting or administering a Quality Management System, with familiarity with ISO 9001 and working knowledge of ISO 14001, 45001, and 50001 management system standards.
  • Knowledge and experience in the processes of FAI, PPAP, FMEA and 8D.
  • Knowledge and experience in auditing practices and procedure writing.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
