Job Summary

McKesson is seeking a strategic and results-driven Regional Director, Continuous Improvement & Industrial Engineering to lead operational excellence initiatives across a network of distribution centers. This leadership role is responsible for driving measurable improvements in safety, service, productivity, quality, cost, and employee engagement through continuous improvement, industrial engineering, and network optimization strategies.

Partnering closely with senior operations leaders, this role will develop and execute regional improvement roadmaps, lead large-scale transformation initiatives, and implement engineering solutions that enhance supply chain performance and support long-term business growth.

What You'll Do

Lead Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and execute regional continuous improvement strategies aligned with business objectives.

  • Partner with distribution center leadership to assess operational performance, identify opportunities, and implement scalable solutions.

  • Drive measurable improvements in safety, quality, service levels, productivity, compliance, and operating costs.

  • Lead Lean Six Sigma initiatives utilizing methodologies such as DMAIC, Kaizen, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping.

  • Establish governance routines, performance reviews, and KPI scorecards to monitor progress and ensure accountability.

  • Build and manage a multi-year operational excellence roadmap across the distribution network.

  • Analyze operational data and performance trends to identify risks, opportunities, and improvement priorities.

  • Lead cross-functional transformation initiatives that improve operational effectiveness and financial performance.

Lead Industrial Engineering & Network Optimization

  • Direct distribution center engineering initiatives, including facility layout design, workflow optimization, storage strategy, and material handling equipment (MHE) solutions.

  • Evaluate capacity, throughput, labor productivity, and space utilization to support network planning decisions.

  • Support distribution center start-ups, network expansion projects, product flow optimization, and supply chain transformation initiatives.

  • Develop labor models, engineering standards, and resource planning strategies through advanced analytics.

  • Build business cases and financial analyses that support operational and capital investment decisions.

  • Lead engineering and optimization projects from strategy through implementation, ensuring effective stakeholder communication and change management.

  • Partner across U.S. and Canadian operations to identify, standardize, and scale best practices.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Typically requires 12+ years of professional experience, including 4+ years of leadership or management experience in industrial engineering, continuous improvement, supply chain operations, manufacturing, or distribution operations.

  • Experience leading large-scale operational improvement or transformation initiatives across multiple sites or business functions.

  • Demonstrated success applying Lean, Continuous Improvement, Industrial Engineering, or Operational Excellence methodologies to improve business performance.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing senior leaders in a matrixed environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with experience translating operational data into actionable business solutions.

  • Experience developing strategic roadmaps, operational plans, and performance metrics.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification or equivalent.

  • Experience within large-scale distribution, logistics, healthcare distribution, retail supply chain, or manufacturing environments.

  • Expertise in warehouse operations, labor management systems, and distribution center engineering.

  • Experience with automation technologies, robotics, warehouse management systems (WMS), and supply chain optimization tools.

  • Knowledge of material handling equipment (MHE) design and implementation.

  • Experience leading capital projects and network optimization initiatives.

  • Knowledge of regulated operating environments, including cGMP or similar standards.

  • Bilingual English/French is an asset.

Travel & Working Conditions

  • Ability to travel up to 30-50% to distribution centers and business locations throughout the region.

  • Hybrid office and field-based role with regular visits to operational facilities.

  • Must be able to safely access warehouse, distribution, and operational environments.

$132,900 - $221,500
