Job description

POSITION: Operations Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Operations Supervisor
Summary
Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for Full-Time Operations Coordinator at the Waco Convention Center in Waco, TX. Waco Convention Center is in the fast lane for opportunity and excitement. We are seeking a unique Full-Time Operations Coordinator person to join our Operations team. Under general supervision, the Operations Coordinator performs work as needed to clean, maintain, set up/teardown equipment and prepare for events at the facility. Duties include skilled and semi-skilled tasks, which often require heavy lifting and a high degree of physical exertion. Also, ensure all clients' requirements are met and facility rules, regulations and policies are adhered to.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following:
  • Participate in all aspects of the conversion process in preparation for events. Duties may include setting up and tearing down flooring, portable chairs, operable airwalls, stage barricades, staging, bike racks, turnstiles, tables, other furnishings, and equipment.
  • Perform various duties to ensure the day-to-day operations of the facility are met. These include but are not limited to event setup, loading/unloading delivery trucks, transporting trash and waste to proper disposal areas.
  • Assist with pre/post event cleaning of operational equipment, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning and washing.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks on equipment such as tables, chairs, staging, stage barricades, stage stairs, bike racks and retractable seating.
  • Report irregularities, discrepancies, damage of equipment and property, loss of property and equipment and safety concerns promptly to supervisor, manager, and director.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
  • Follow all policies/procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules, regulations, and emergency procedures established at the facility.
  • Ensuring and following safety measures and regulations for forklift operation.
  • Organize and prioritize work from event overviews and task lists to meeting deadlines. Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
  • Perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions.
  • Ability to work long and irregular hours may vary due to functions and may include day, evening, weekends and holidays.

Education and/or Experience
  • High School diploma or GED and one to three months related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Abilities
  • Work independently, exercising judgement and initiative.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment.

Computer Skills
  • Not Applicable.

Other Qualifications
  • Be licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the United States is preferred.
  • Ability to operate a sit-down Forklift preferred.
