Job description


As a Project Development Manager here at Honeywell, you will lead the analysis, development, and advancement of Distributed Energy Resource (DER), energy efficiency, electrification, resilience, and decarbonization projects tailored for commercial and industrial customers.
You will report directly to our Director, Project Development and you'll work out of our New Jersey location on an On-site work schedule.
In this role, you will impact the successful qualification, financial modeling, and execution of energy projects by coordinating cross-functional teams across sales, engineering, finance, legal, operations, and external partners, driving sustainable energy solutions and business growth.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end development of DER opportunities including solar PV, battery energy storage systems, microgrids, CHP, backup generation, EV charging, and energy efficiency solutions.
  • Develop feasibility assessments, energy analysis and modeling, investment-grade audits, commercial strategy, proposal development, and executive presentations.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to define technical scope, energy savings, generation performance, and project economics.
  • Build financial models and proformas supporting EPC, EaaS, PPA, ESA, lease, and hybrid commercial structures.
  • Act as trusted advisor to customer executives, facility leaders, and sustainability stakeholders.
  • Manage development schedules, risks, budgets, incentives, permitting considerations, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Partner with sales teams to grow pipelines and improve win rates in target verticals including industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, higher education, commercial real estate, and data centers.
  • Facilitate contract negotiations and support project close activities.
  • Transition awarded projects to execution teams while maintaining customer continuity.

Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Management, Industrial, Mechanical, Civil or related technical discipline with sound background in electrical systems.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in DER, renewable energy including solar PV, battery energy storage systems, microgrids, CHP, backup generation, EV charging, and energy efficiency solutions. roles.
  • Experience developing projects valued from $5M to $50M+.
  • Strong commercial, financial, and customer-facing experience.
  • Ability to lead multiple concurrent opportunities

WE VALUE
  • Experience with Helioscope, PV Syst, NearMap, Xendee, ETAP, or other related software is preferred.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
  • Certification/Accreditation in Distributed Energy Resources including BESS, PV, Fuel Cells, Microgrid, etc.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Manage a portfolio of project development opportunities ranging from multi-site programs to complex individual energy infrastructure projects.
  • Monitor project development budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks during the development phase.

The annual base salary range for this position in New Jersey ($200k - $213k>. For Georgia and most major metropolitan areas, the annual base salary range is <$175k - $185>.
