Job Description: Coordinator   Location: Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport

Menzies Aviation is expanding and looking to add to the Gate Coordinator operations in Louisville, Kentucky. 

Title: Gate Coordinator 

Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour 

Available Shifts: All Shifts 

The Gate Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of boarding/unloading aircrafts as well as developing and maintaining positive client relations. 

What does a Gate Coordinator do? 

  • Manage the day-to-day operations within the primary area of the concourse. 
  • Safely board and deplane passengers. 
  • Collect Special Service Request (SSR) list from gate agents. 
  • Stage and collect wheelchairs throughout airport. 
  • Perform wellness checks with passengers. 
  • Perform all duties of subordinate employees when necessary. 
  • Maintain good employee relations. 
  • Client Relations – Effectively communicate with airline management and project a positive image in responding to inquiries from airlines, staff and the public. 
  • Monitor employee activity and adjusts as needed. 
  • Must be in proper uniform or business attire as directed by company officials. Identification badges must always be visible. 
  • Utilize company and client equipment, supplies and resources in a conscientious, cost effective manner 
  • Perform Other Duties as requested. 

What skills are required to Join the Team? 

  • 2 years previous customer experience preferred. 
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills. 
  • Must be knowledgeable regarding applicable local, state, and federal regulations related to the hiring process and employment. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Word processing and typing and filing skills. 
  • Supervisory experience preferred. 
  • Ability to work as a team while focusing on details. 
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays to serve airline passengers. 
  • Flexibility, multitasking and experience working in a changing environment. 

Language Skills: 

  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals, and employee handbooks 
  • Ability to effectively present information, including in written form, and respond to questions from passengers, managers, clients, customers, and the public 
  • Must also possess and utilize effective listening skills
