BLADE is a rapidly growing global air mobility platform utilizing a technology-powered, asset light model with unrivaled brand recognition. Blade is focused on efforts to assist the aviation industry in order to accelerate its transition from conventional aircrafts to quieter, cleaner eVTOL (Electric Vertical Take-off and Landing) Aircrafts, expand new air mobility routes, grow our network of captive passenger infrastructure, and continue to develop our consumer-to-cockpit technology stacks.
Job Overview
This key team member will work closely with the Operations Managers and Directors across all functional areas at BLADE, including Flier Relations, Finance, Customer Experience and Marketing to ensure seamless operations, optimal flight utilization and exceptional Flier experience. The Operations Associate will support additional day-to-day company operations, including exploration and pricing of new and existing routes and other growth initiatives as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure operational excellence and world-class service for BLADE fliers across all product offerings
  • Liaise with BLADE's Operations Managers to optimize aircraft supply against forecasted passenger demand
  • Work closely alongside BLADE's Flier Relations and Customer Experience teams to ensure exceptional passenger experiences
  • Monitor weather patterns, events and other external issues that could impact flight patterns and mitigate any flight delays or cancellations
  • Communicate and interact with BLADE fliers to cultivate potential sales relationships
  • Partner with Marketing to ensure targeted communications for flights.
  • Leverage BLADE's proprietary software to price, track and optimize routes in current and developing markets and analyze new market opportunities

Required
  • Degree in engineering, aviation, business, or related fields that emphasize problem-solving, operations, or analytical thinking
  • Comfort with high-stakes, time-pressured decision-making (weather delays, crew changes, mechanical issues cascading through a schedule)
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Data-driven mindset - using historical performance data to anticipate bottlenecks (weather patterns, maintenance downtime, crew availability)
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Highly collaborative; ability to work with stakeholders from various parts of the business
  • Maintains accessibility on evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Compensation at BLADE is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) in Joby Aviation. The target base pay for this position is $70,304-$85,400/yr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
