Job description

Overview:

Processes and balances incoming and outgoing Automated Clearinghouse (ACH) files. Processes ACH disputes and government reclamations in a timely and accurate manner.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Process ACH windows for customers including origination file preparation, manual kick to system for processing, balance, and evaluation of suspends and unmatched files in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Process guidance and gather applicable approvals within 5 day guidance overlines for unresolved online transactions, deletions, reversals, and corporate reclaims in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Verify Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) for changes, additions, or deletions in Paperless Entry Processing (PEP).
  • Process and respond to government reclamations within required timeframe.
  • Complete Automatic Transfer Generator (ATG) verification and set-up.
  • Research and process late returns and Power of Attorney (POA) documents.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.
Scope of Responsibilities:

Develop and demonstrate working knowledge of ACH request processing across one business line, including retail or commercial.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

No supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience Required:
  • Associate's degree, or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 2 years' general work experience
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills
Education and Experience Preferred:
  • Familiarity with the use of Personal Computers including word processing, spreadsheet, presentations and industry-specific software.
