Job description

Job Summary

This position is responsible for performing general warehouse functions including, but not limited to, pick/pack and scanning in accordance with AMSโ€™ set procedures. The Operations Associate II will utilize a company-issued hand-held device to pick a wide variety of items and place and arrange items in containers and bins following specific instructions. The Operations Associate II will check containers for damage, and confirm correct items and quantities are selected. You will perform duties in accordance with standard operating instructions and ensure inbound and outbound shipments are correct and defect-free.

Responsibilities

  • Completes daily assignments as requested, including pick & pack and scanning of product.
  • Use new technology for Picking.
  • Scans verified using InOrder and HandHeld device.ย 
  • Communicates effectively with Operations manager/supervisor and lead when job is completed.
  • Performs housekeeping duties at the end of each working day in accordance with specific Zone procedures.
  • Works in different areas of the warehouse as needed.

Some facilities may require the operation of advanced technology for picking & packing. Please see details below.

Requirements for the front of the wall:ย 

Employee must be able to stand for long periods of time and perform well in a repetitive environment. Skills include using a ring scanner and have the ability to recognize blinking lights quickly. Understanding of basic technology is a must, which also includes being able to read and interpret a numerical display. Employee must approach the task with care and ensure correct product is being scanned. Must be able to keep up with pace to help maintain a smooth workflow. Employee must also be self-directed and recognize and understand when to shift themselves to the back of the wall.

Requirements for back of the wall:

Employee must be able to be mobile and shift themselves to walls with the most open orders. Must be able to count correctly when processing orders.ย  Employee must also place strong emphasis on detail as many orders/lights will be in front of them.ย  Detail also includes ability to determine an illegible shipping label. Employee must be self-directed and be mobile during time of idle.ย  Understanding of basic technology is a must, which also includes being able to read and interpret a numerical display. Employee must approach the task with care and ensure correct slot is being worked on.

Command Center:

Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-moving environment.ย  Responsibilities will include managing several wall stations at once.ย  Must have the ability understand inventory levels and be able to look up inventory in the system. Must have a positive attitude, as this role will work with different departments in the warehouse. Must be able to work organized and work well as a team.ย  Organization is key as the workload grows.ย  Must have a high sense of urgency in this role.

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years work experience in a similar role.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • WMS system knowledge preferred.
  • Attention to detail and organized.
  • Ability to safely operate equipment such as box cutters.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends with short notice.
  • Work well under pressure and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with diverse range of people.
  • Able to lift up to 45lbs.
