Job description

Employment Status:Full timeShift:Day (United States of America)Facility:2823 Franklin Rd - RoanokeRequisition Number:R159185 FOOD SERVICES ASSOCIATE I (Open) How You'll Help Transform Healthcare:Sign on Bonus: $2,000 per applicable guidelines (external hires only)
Performs a variety of duties as assigned, including but not limited to, assisting patients with menu selection, accurate cash and charge transactions in compliance with department procedures, assembling and delivering trays, snacks, tube feedings, and nourishment, customer relations and service delivery, food preparation and storage, and general sanitation of the department.
  • Complete all general food service tasks as assigned, which may include storeroom, tray assembly and/or delivery, and related cleaning.
  • Log temperatures according to documentation requirements.
  • Ring up customer sales on cash register, balance cash drawer, make deposits when needed.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and areas as assigned.
  • Provide catering services for events and meetings.
  • Meet with patients to obtain menu and snack selection per physician diet order.
What We Require:

Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience: One or more years of food service experience preferred.

SERV-Safe Certification or equivalent certification from the Virginia Health Department or the ability to obtain certification within one year of hire date required for employees deemed in charge of departmental operations.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Position is deemed emergency personnel during emergency weather conditions. Must provide own transportation and travel to other Carilion work sites. May be required to work at other Carilion facilities to meet staffing needs.
