Job description

Job Title: Senior Asset Manager - Hospital Setting Location: Hartford, Connecticut Type: Direct Hire Compensation: $100,000.00 - $165,000.00 Contractor Work Model: Onsite – onsite

Overview

The Asset Manager IV will be responsible to work with a set of company customers to review energy usage and strategies in order to implement the best practices. This will include directly managing the O&M of the CEP for the campus, working with, and mentoring the owner's staff on the O&M and energy usage of multiple facilities as part of a greater campus effort.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the operations and maintenance of the Central Energy Plant (CEP) for a hospital campus, including overseeing subcontractors, operators, and internal service providers.
  • Review daily energy usage and develop strategies for efficiency improvements, providing guidance and best practices.
  • Mentor the owner’s staff on energy management, operational standards, and maintenance practices.
  • Develop, update, and maintain the Plant Operating Manual.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, and construction activities with the EPC team, ensuring seamless integration with OMC operations.
  • Conduct on-site troubleshooting and diagnostics in collaboration with remote support teams.
  • Supervise multiple teams of Asset Managers or related staff, ensuring operational excellence and team efficiency.
  • Perform ongoing training for plant operators to maintain high standards of plant operation.
  • Manage the Maintenance Reserve Accounts for the CEP, ensuring proper financial oversight.
  • Ensure the plant operates efficiently and in compliance with applicable building codes and standards.
  • Assist with project management and process improvements within the energy management scope.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6+ years managing multiple sites or equivalent experience in facility management or mechanical construction.
  • Experience with managing complex central plants or mechanical systems, preferably in hospital or large campus environments.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and associated standards.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET Accredited); PE license preferred or FE working towards PE.
  • Willingness to travel 10-25% of the time to job sites or offices.
  • Ability to ascend ladders, climb stairs, work in confined spaces, and lift objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Adaptable to various environmental conditions, including noisy and quiet environments.
