Job description

Role Description:

The LNP Production Intern supports the manufacturing and quality control activities associated with mRNA-LNP formulations and related nanoparticle products. This role is responsible for assisting with LNP formulation, purification, concentration, in-process quality testing, inventory management, documentation, and preparation of final products for shipment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced production environment while following established SOPs and quality standards. The responsibilities are aligned with existing LNP production workflows used by the team.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Operations:

  • Assist with preparation of buffers, reagents, lipids, and payload materials.
  • Support mRNA-LNP formulation and downstream processing activities.
  • Perform purification and concentration processes following approved SOPs.
  • Operate laboratory equipment including centrifuges, filtration devices, TFF systems, and other production equipment.
  • Assist in antibody-decorated LNP preparation and purification processes following established procedures.

In-Process Quality Control

  • Perform routine QC measurements including: Particle size, PDI, Zeta potential, Encapsulation efficiency and others
  • Accurately record and review production and QC data.
  • Ensure all activities comply with GDP (Good Documentation Practices).

Sample Handling & Shipment

  • Prepare final products for customer delivery.
  • Conduct sterile filtration, aliquoting, tube labeling, and packaging.
  • Maintain sample traceability throughout production and shipping processes.

Inventory & Materials Management

  • ย Follow all production SOPs, work instructions, and safety procedures.
  • ย Complete batch records and laboratory documentation accurately.
  • ย Maintain compliance with ISO and internal quality systems.
  • ย Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
  • 0-2 years of laboratory, manufacturing, or biotechnology experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and equipment.
  • Ability to follow SOPs and work independently after training.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Preferred having experience with mRNA production, LNP technology, sterile techniques, centrifugal filtration or TFF, DLS and experience in GMP, ISO regulated environment.

Please note that this is aย full-time role based onsite in Redmond, WA with lunch provided daily. The hourly pay-rate is $22-$24 per hour.

Please note that we are not looking for candidates that are unable to commit to a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.ย
