Logistics Manager


Job Summary:

The Logistics Manager is responsible for managing outbound logistics operations to ensure customer orders are shipped accurately, timely, and cost-effectively. This position oversees routing compliance, shipping documentation, order fulfillment coordination, and logistics personnel. The Logistics Manager monitors departmental performance, resolves logistics issues, and implements process improvements to support customer service, operational efficiency, and company objectives.



Supervisory Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise logistics personnel.

Assign, prioritize, and monitor daily workloads.

Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members.

Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing performance feedback.

Recommend and participate in hiring, promotion, corrective action, and termination decisions.

Establish departmental expectations and monitor team performance against established goals and KPIs.

Promote accountability, teamwork, customer service, and continuous improvement.


Duties/Responsibilities:

Manage outbound logistics operations to ensure customer orders ship accurately and on time.

Oversee order routing, and customer delivery requirements.

Obtain and monitor ready dates, ship windows, cancel dates, and delivery schedules.

Submit outbound orders for routing and ensure compliance with customer requirements.

Coordinate transportation activities with customers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers.

Manage routing guide compliance, transportation requirements, appointment scheduling, and customer-specific shipping standards for large-volume retail, wholesale, and distribution accounts.

Maintain routing information and transportation records within NetSuite ERP and Softeon WMS.

Provide dimensional, weight, and cubage information required for transportation planning.

Prepare, review, and maintain shipping, customs, and transportation documentation.

Ensure shipment documentation is completed, retained, and readily accessible.

Resolve routing, scheduling, delivery, and documentation issues.

Ensure compliance with customer routing guides, shipping requirements, vendor compliance standards, and transportation regulations.

Track, analyze, and report key performance indicators including on-time delivery, routing compliance, shipment accuracy, and inventory accuracy.

Identify and implement process improvements to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen service levels.

Collaborate with Operations, Customer Service, Inventory Control, Planning, and Sales to support business objectives.



Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of logistics, transportation, distribution, and supply chain operations.

Strong understanding of routing guide compliance, transportation requirements, appointment scheduling, vendor compliance standards, and customer shipping requirements.

Ability to manage personnel, priorities, and daily workflow in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency with NetSuite ERP, warehouse management systems, and Microsoft Office applications.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Demonstrated leadership and employee development abilities.



Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Minimum of five (5) years of logistics, transportation, distribution, supply chain, or related experience.

Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or management experience.

Experience managing transportation, routing guide compliance, appointment scheduling, vendor compliance requirements, and customer shipping standards for large national retail, e-commerce, wholesale, or distribution customers required.

Experience utilizing ERP and WMS systems in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.

Experience with freight planning, carrier coordination, and transportation performance management preferred.



Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting up to 20 pounds.

Ability to travel domestically as required.
