The Opportunity:

Scope of the position

The Branch Manager provides leadership and support for all aspects of the Branch: incorporating sound business management practices; mentoring sales staff; accountability for assets, budgets, profitability, and personnel; adherence to company policies; implementation of safe work practices; support of sales efforts and maintaining the desired level of service to both external and internal customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

Sales & Marketing

  • Increase Refrigerative Supply’s share across local markets and sustain profitable business growth.
  • Forecast, develop and execute strategic business and sales plans. Work with channel managers to develop strategy on key product categories.
  • Lead Branch efforts to identify, secure, and retain customers by actively networking with community businesses; professional leadership; establishing relationships that enhance the reputation of RS and the Branch.
  • Call on key customers, build relationships and look for opportunities.
  • Adhere to account management principles and identify and pursue opportunities. Ensure the development and maintenance of strategic sales plans and provide leadership to the Inside and Outside Sales Representatives.
  • Support marketing initiatives and ensure sales team does the same.
  • Work with marketing and channel managers to come up with programs to grow sales within the region.
  • Build and maintain a climate of excellence. Set the example for team members to provide high-quality, cost-efficient, customer-directed service and meet or exceed Branch performance targets.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and takes action to address satisfaction issues promptly and decisively.
  • Manage the schedule and participate in the company’s after-hour business, On Call.

Operations

  • Provide effective inventory control and logistics management methods to ensure the Branch leverages the efficiencies of all aspects of its business to maximize profit and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage and capitalize on Branch assets and resources (people, financial, and material)
    to achieve business objectives.
  • Oversee the administrative procedures related to sales, people and culture, logistics, and operations following the policies, standards, and values of Refrigerative Supply.
  • Ensure that all documentation and paperwork is submitted to Head office in a timely fashion.
  • Ensures a clean and safe work environment for both customers and staff.
  • Act and manage the Branch with honesty and integrity, following the highest ethical standards; complies with all local, Provincial, and Federal regulations.

Team Management

  • Provide leadership in developing employees according to People and Culture policies and standards, including coaching and motivating employees by providing effective feedback and training.
  • Hold monthly branch meetings to communicate key issues and address employee operational concerns.
  • Provide an atmosphere of teamwork among employees.
  • Working closely with the People and Culture team; recruiting, interviewing, and hiring staff personnel for openings in sales and warehouse positions.
  • Monitor job performance to ensure employees meet or exceed Refrigerative Supply’s standards of excellence.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of HVAC branch management experience preferred.
  • HVAC/R Technical experience is required.
  • Progressive sales and operational experience with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong customer service experience and superior relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in a lead or supervisory role with responsibility for the productivity or development of others is an asset.
  • Post-secondary degrees and/or supplementary courses are an asset.
  • Excellent analytical, written, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Driver’s license.
  • Access to own vehicle.
