Description

In this role, the Operations Manager will provide leadership and oversee all daily activities and personnel in the distribution center. This leader is responsible for the overall performance of the distribution operation, including safe and efficient Inbound Operations (Moves & Putaways), Outbound Operations (LTL & Small Parcel), light assembly operations, inventory control functions, location clean-up/maintenance, Cross-Functional Collaborations, and all other fulfillment operations to various other ASC distribution center locations and customers in North America. 

How You Will Help:
  • Develop and maintain a culture in which the safety of our associates is paramount to the success of the team. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations for the site.
  • Lead the activities of warehouse personnel to maintain a smooth flow of work, plan for capacity, achieve customer delivery dates, and support company profitability.
  • Lead daily distribution operations while meeting safety, quality, cost, and on-time shipping objectives. This involves improving operating efficiency, reducing costs, identifying unfavorable trends, and taking corrective action.
  • Prepares daily management reports and reports required metrics on a timely basis. 
  • Manage day-to-day inside sales operations supporting oil & gas customers
  • Ensure accurate order entry, pricing, and customer satisfaction
  • Set clear performance expectations focused on execution, accuracy, and responsiveness
  • Serve as escalation point for inventory shortages, service issues, and order discrepancies
  •  Coordinate with purchasing to manage stock levels, critical items, and long-lead products
  • Conduct objective evaluation of employee performance through regular performance reviews and provide training and direction to employees.
  • Foster positive working relationships across functional areas. Responds proactively to performance concerns, discipline, employee complaints, and other employee relations matters.
  • Provide training, equipment, and guidance to distribution center personnel.
  • Communicate with other departments and management to resolve problems and expedite work.
  • Make recommendations to management concerning employees and improvement of procedures and protocols.
  • Oversee building and grounds maintenance.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.


What You Will You Bring:
  • 5-10 years of work experience in a distribution environment is required, preferred size of 100k square feet or more, with multiple shifts and powered industrial equipment
  • Ability to build high performing teams, coach and train employees, clear communications, collaborative environment, holding yourself accountable
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities; a hands-on leader with a passion for employees’ wellbeing, self-starter, team player, relationship builder and the ability to lead change.
  • Knowledge of KPIs to involve but not limited to TPH, Inventory, Cycle Counting, RMA Mgmt., Dock to Stock,  
  • Embrace and lead safety culture through hands on application of tools and processes.  Leadership oversight and enforcement of safety policies, procedures and initiatives as deployed.
  • Ability to review data, analyze trends, identify opportunities for improvement through properly troubleshooting, or root case analysis.  Identify improvement plans supported with data analysis.
