Job Description

Oversee logistics, pricing validation, collateral management, and volume controls for power products and renewable credits across major US and Latin American markets. Lead automation and process improvement initiatives using Python and VBA, and business intelligence tools to enhance operational efficiency, data integrity, and auditability. Coordinate with Legal, Contracts, and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and compliant execution of agreements, settlements, and credit management activities. Manage the scheduling and nomination of power deliveries and carbon certificates, minimizing imbalance and congestion costs while ensuring compliance with ISO and regulatory requirements.

Develop and maintain pricing, forecasting, and cost allocation models to support trading strategies and performance measurement. Reconcile ISO charges, settlements, and environmental credit transactions, investigating discrepancies and ensuring financial accuracy. Apply in-depth knowledge of proprietary systems to support daily operations, reporting, and decision-making. Deliver timely P&L updates, exposure reports, and automated dashboards to traders and stakeholders, supporting transparency and effective risk management. Maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external counterparties to facilitate smooth transaction execution and issue resolution. Continuously identify and implement technology-driven process improvements to optimize workflows and reduce operational risk.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Technology Management, Economics, or a related field and 3 years of experience in analyzing data within energy commodities.

  • 3 years of experience to include:
    • Leveraging expertise in wholesale and retail market structures, day-ahead and real-time market operations, ancillary services, and load forecasting, in the US and Brazil to optimize business processes and support strategic decision-making using Python, and VBA
    • Utilizing Python and VBA to automate operational workflows, contract management, and reporting processes, increasing efficiency and reducing manual errors
    • Designing and developing Tableau and Power BI dashboards to visualize operational metrics, contract performance, and market trends for power trading and operations teams by using in depth experience in US and LATAM markets
    • Implementing automation solutions for contract execution and compliance, streamlining processes and reducing turnaround times
    • Integrating and analyzing data from diverse sources including market reports, internal systems, Excel, and Python databases to support trading, risk management, and operational decision-making
    • Applying advanced data analysis techniques in Python to identify operational bottlenecks, forecast market conditions, and optimize contract execution strategies for US and LATAM markets
    • Developing custom VBA macros to automate, contract documentation, approval workflows, and audit trails for power transactions
    • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate complex operational requirements into actionable analytics and automation solutions by using Python, VBA, Power BI and Tableau
    • Optimizing business intelligence tools including Tableau or Power BI for real-time monitoring of operations bottlenecks like delivery status, contract status, payment status, operational KPIs, and regulatory compliance
