Program Overview
Brown Advisory is seeking motivated, team-oriented students to join us for a 9-week, on-site internship designed to immerse you in every facet of investment management. While you will have the opportunity to select an area of specialty (e.g. Portfolio Management or Investment Research), you'll contribute to projects that span the entire firm.
Our immersive internship is designed to build your analytical, strategic, and communication skills through real-world projects that span across a variety of departments and impact firm-wide decision-making.
By collaborating with colleagues across the firm, you'll learn how to harness data to inform investment decisions, optimize processes, and deliver exceptional client outcomes. Your contributions will span the breadth of our organization, offering a holistic view of how asset management firms function, innovate, and deliver long-term value to clients.

Portfolio Management
  • Gain exposure to how we construct and manage portfolios tailored to clients' long-term goals and investment objectives. You may assist in preparing mock client materials, analyzing performance data, and participating in meetings that highlight the importance of communication, trust, and long-term planning.

Applicant Requirements:
  • You are pursuing an undergraduate degree with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
  • You have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and must submit an unofficial transcript with your application.
  • You have a balanced resume showcasing leadership roles, extracurricular involvement, or other notable achievements.
  • You must have an entrepreneurial mindset and proactively identify opportunities and own projects from ideation through execution.
  • You must be an analytical and adaptive thinker with a genuine passion for finance, investing, and macro-level economics.

  • You must have experience with MS Excel.
  • You must have strong communication and presentation skills, coupled with exceptional attention to detail.
  • You must be willing to work in a collaborative environment and be capable of thriving in a team environment that relies on your ability to multitask and adapt swiftly to changing priorities.
  • You must be willing to work on-site, in one of our office locations (Baltimore, Boston, New York or Washington, D.C.), five days a week to gain the full experience of our program offering.

Brown Advisory offers a paid internship program, including a signing incentive for all selected candidates as part of the overall offer package.
Hourly Pay: $20-$35 hourly. Commensurate with experience and location. This range does not include bonus or long term incentive eligibility (if applicable).
