The Accounting Manager plays a critical role in supporting the financial health, operational effectiveness, and long-term success of UTR Group. Through strong financial oversight, leadership, and a commitment to continuous improvement, this position helps ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information while promoting responsible stewardship of organizational resources. The Accounting Manager serves as a trusted partner to leadership, supports informed decision-making, and contributes to the achievement of UTR Group's strategic and operational objectives.


Core Responsibilities


Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and general ledger activities.
  • Lead the monthly financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Review account reconciliations, journal entries, and support schedules for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, identifying variances, trends, and areas requiring management attention.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and oversee depreciation activities.
  • Support annual audits and preparation of required financial documentation.
  • Review payroll and retirement funding activities for accuracy and compliance and maintain current knowledge of related procedures to serve as a backup resource when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and organizational policies.

Budgeting, Analysis & Process Improvement

  • Partner with department leaders to review budget performance and financial results.
  • Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Provide financial recommendations to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

Staff Leadership & Development

  • Supervise, coach, and develop accounting team members.
  • Establish performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback and training.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development planning.
  • Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and training new accounting staff.
  • Ensure appropriate cross-training and continuity of operations across accounting functions.
Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of seven years of progressive accounting experience, including financial reporting, account reconciliations, budgeting, and month-end close activities required.
  • Minimum of three years of supervisory experience leading accounting, finance, or related staff required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or other relevant accounting or finance certification preferred.

  • Must be able to work a hybrid schedule in accordance with organizational and departmental expectations.
  • Must maintain a work environment that supports productivity, confidentiality, and professional communication when working remotely.
