Job description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead core accounting activities. This position partners closely with the Controller to support daily financial operations, strengthen accounting controls, and guide general ledger processes across the business. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership capability, and the ability to keep month-end and year-end reporting on track in a deadline-driven environment.


Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting operations and support the Controller in managing the organization’s financial processes and priorities.

• Lead the review and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, ensuring discrepancies are identified promptly and resolved through accurate adjustments.

• Supervise and provide direction to accounting staff responsible for account analysis, reconciliations, and routine ledger activity.

• Coordinate the preparation and review of month-end and year-end close documentation, including work papers, reporting packages, and supporting schedules.

• Prepare monthly financial statements for leadership review and help ensure reporting is completed accurately and on schedule.

• Examine weekly payroll and related reports to confirm accuracy, completeness, and alignment with company policies.

• Monitor accounting practices and internal controls to support compliance with organizational standards and proper segregation of duties.

• Review financial and regulatory reports to help maintain adherence to applicable federal and state requirements.

• Respond to corporate reporting requests and provide additional accounting support as needed by the Controller.

• At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibility for general ledger oversight and financial close activities.

• Strong knowledge of month-end close, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.

• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and its application in a multi-entity or complex business environment.

• Experience supporting audits and preparing documentation for financial statement review or external audit requests.

• Demonstrated ability to lead accounting staff, review work for accuracy, and maintain deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

• Proficiency with larger ERP accounting systems.

• CPA designation is preferred or strong equivalent technical accounting background.
