Job description

Why This Opportunity
Join a high-performing accounting team within a well-established organization where you'll have the opportunity to make an immediate impact, work alongside experienced leadership, and contribute to a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role offers significant visibility, meaningful responsibility, and the chance to step into a hands-on leadership position supporting a large and complex business operation.
About the Company
Our client is a large, well-established organization with a significant operational footprint and a long-standing reputation for excellence. The company supports a diverse range of business activities across multiple markets and is recognized for its strong standards, collaborative culture, and operational discipline. With a strong financial foundation, the organization continues to evolve and grow while investing in its people and processes. This is an opportunity to join a respected organization during an exciting period of activity and transformation.
About the Accounting Manager Role
The Accounting Manager will serve as a hands-on leader responsible for supporting the monthly close process, reviewing accounting work, and helping ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This role partners closely with accounting leadership and works alongside staff and senior accountants to manage deadlines, review deliverables, and provide coaching and guidance. While there are no direct reports, the position plays an important role in supporting team performance and maintaining accounting quality standards. The ideal candidate is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, diving into account activity, and helping solve challenges as they arise. This position offers significant exposure to leadership and the opportunity to contribute across a broad range of accounting functions.
Role Responsibilities
• Review financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting work prepared by team members
• Support month-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of deliverables
• Analyze general ledger activity and investigate account variances
• Review and post journal entries as needed
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis
• Monitor accounting timelines and help coordinate team deliverables
• Partner with operational and finance stakeholders to resolve accounting issues
• Provide coaching, guidance, and support to accounting staff and senior accountants
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Prior experience within a large, complex, or multi-entity accounting environment required
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accrual-based accounting
• Experience managing month-end close processes and financial reporting activities
• Advanced proficiency with Excel, including complex formulas and data analysis
• Experience reviewing reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger activity
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Experience with Workday is a plus
Why This Role Stands Out
• Opportunity to step into a highly visible accounting leadership role
• Work directly with experienced accounting and finance leadership
• Join a large, established organization with strong market presence and stability
• Broad exposure across accounting operations rather than a narrowly focused function
• Collaborative environment where your expertise and input will be valued immediately
• Opportunity to make an impact during a period of significant organizational activity and change
