As an Accountant in the Finance team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that the books and records of the company and its subsidiaries are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and in compliance with the company’s policies and procedures. The accountant will collaborate with International Operations Accounting Manager to maintain highly detailed analytical reports supporting financial data. This position plays a key role in the production of monthly financial statements as well as year-end audit, annual budget and forecasts.

What does your typical day look like?

  • Works in collaboration with the International Operations Accounting Manager and the site controllers to ensure the production of monthly financial statements;
  • Works in collaboration with the International Operations Accounting Manager to produce the external audit documentation;
  • Works in collaboration with the International Operations Accounting Manager in preparing financial analysis on financial statements, highlights performance issues and prepares reports for management;
  • Reconciles assigned general ledger account in a timely manner, including intercompany transactions;
  • Researches and resolves all outstanding, out-of-balance or stale-dated items;
  • Temporary Assignment (July 2026 to Early February 2028)

What skills and experience are we looking for?                   

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field;
  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience, preferably in the financial or travel insurance industry;
  • Professional designation of CPA would be an asset;
  • Bilingual French and English (spoken and written).
    French is used daily, particularly for follow-up communications with other departments from the Sherbrooke office;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Basic knowledge of taxation regulations;
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills;
  • Excellent skills with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook);
  • Knowledge of Workday and Adaptive would be an asset.
