Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Science Training and Sustainment Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to support a U.S. Government contract in Rabat, Morocco to design, and construct a Pathogen Consolidation Unit (PCU) in association with a Biological Safety Laboratory, and conduct training. The position will provide support and guidance for the development of a Sustainment to Transition Plan for the operations and maintenance of a newly constructed biosafety level-2 (BSL-2) pathogen consolidation unit (PCU), while also being responsible for the design, development, and execution of a comprehensive training program-including courses, workshops, and exercises-to meet US government objectives and ensure stakeholders are prepared to sustain facility operations and training at the close of the project.

**THIS POSITION, WHILE BASED IN THE U.S., WILL REQUIRE REGULAR TRIPS OF 1-2 WEEKS IN LENGTH TO MOROCCO**

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Leads the development and conduct of a Sustainment to Transition Plan detailing how the project responsibilities will be transitioned effectively to the partner.
  • Leads curriculum planning, and the development and execution of training courses and training events for trainers and partner nation stakeholders on PCU operations, biosafety, biosecurity, and bioinformatics, in coordination with the Parsons Project Manager and logistics personnel to ensure all training meets government objectives.
  • May perform as a Senior Instructor or Instructor and teach events (courses, workshops, exercises) if a training event is within their area of direct expertise.
  • Establishes relationships with host country stakeholders and participates in meetings and training events in support of U.S. Government client.
  • Supports the preparation of an Operation and Maintenance Manual.
  • Reviews Training Event and After-Action Reports to ensure lessons learned and continuous improvement are incorporated into future event curriculum.
  • Participates in a Training and Sustainment Working Group with the Stakeholder.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Master's degree in Microbiology, Virology, Public Health, Adult Education or a closely related field is required.
  • A minimum of 12 years of related work experience executing international projects and developing and delivering technical training program, with at least 5 years conducting adult education in a scientific or laboratory environment.
  • Candidate must have experience in biorisk management and biosafety laboratory operations.
  • Proven ability to develop training curriculum and perform in a training environment.
  • International Project delivery experience.
  • International training experience.
  • Biosafety laboratory training experience
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required. In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project.
  • Requires the ability to communicate clearly, conduct presentations to the field team and interface effectively with a diverse group of foreign officials, US government clients, engineers, scientists, and subcontractors.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with field personnel in a tactful and effective manner.
  • Computer proficiency with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and Visio. Project Planning skills are essential.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to direct and manage team members with day-to-day activities as well as special projects to assure timely completion.
  • Ability to manage distributed teams located in foreign countries.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to Rabat, Morocco to support the project.
