Overview
Advanced Gynecology, a practice partner of Together Women's Health, is seeking a PRN Surgical Technologist. The Surgical Technologist (Surgical Tech) plays a vital role in the operating room team by preparing the surgical environment, ensuring proper sterilization of instruments, and assisting surgeons during operative procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to work in a high-stress environment, and excellent collaboration skills to ensure optimal surgical outcomes.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare operating rooms for surgery by ensuring all instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of surgical procedures.
  • Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants during operations.
  • Maintain a sterile environment and enforce infection control protocols.
  • Handle specimens for laboratory analysis as directed.
  • Monitor and manage surgical supplies and inventory.
  • Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments before, during, and after procedures.
  • Assist with patient positioning, draping, and prepping as required.
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Perform post-operative cleanup and help prepare the room for the next procedure.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) highly preferred
  • Current BLS required
  • 2+ years in an acute care OR setting preferred
  • Proficient in sterile processing and OR procedures
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
  • Physical stamina for standing long periods and lifting surgical instruments
