Job description

A Career with Point72's Operational Risk Team

The Operational Risk Group at Point72 is responsible for identification, monitoring, and reporting of operational risk across the firm. We also manage business continuity, third-party risks, and commercial lines of insurance (excluding employee benefits).

What you'll do

As an Operational Risk Manager you will play a critical role in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating operational risks across the organization. You will partner closely with Finance, Operations, Technology, Compliance, and other functional teams to strengthen the firm's risk profile and protect its value by proactively managing risks arising from internal processes, people, systems, and external events in support of our business objectives. Specifically, you will:

  • Direct the implementation of Point72's operational risk framework.
  • Oversee the capture, investigation, and rootcause analysis of realized events, ensuring effective documentation, remediation planning, and governance reporting.
  • Lead the analysis, assessment, and continuous monitoring of operational risks across business units, including investment processes, trading operations, technology, and support functions.
  • Perform assessments of new business and critical initiatives to ensure risks are appropriately managed.
  • Support the enhancement of the firm's risk frameworks, policies, and standards, promoting a culture of risk awareness and accountability.
  • Prepare and present risk reporting for senior management and governance committees.

What's required

  • 15+ years of professional experience in risk management, auditing, or consulting.
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, conomics, computer science or engineering.
  • PRMIA Operational Risk Manager Certificate, FRM, CRISC, CISA, and/or CIA certifications.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships to drive positive change.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret risk data and provide actionable insights.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with automation tools and software, such as robotic process automation (RPA) platforms, GenAI, data analytics tools, and Tableau.
  • Project management skills to assist with planning and implementing automation initiatives, including time management and organization skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to thorough analysis.
  • A self-starter who can work independently.
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards.

The annual base salary range for this role is $200,000-$250,000 (USD) , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
