The Operations Internship Program is the overall internship experience supporting a variety of Operations teams across the firm. Interns may be aligned to different operational tracks based on business need, including teams responsible for transaction processing, operational controls, risk management, client support, reconciliation activities, process improvement, and other core operational functions that help deliver accuracy, efficiency, and confidence across the organization.
Operations plays a critical role in supporting Schwab's purpose-driven, client-centric business by ensuring that key processes are executed with precision, integrity, and care. As an Operations Intern, you will contribute to real business activities that support clients and internal partners through work involving processing, reviews, documentation, research, reconciliations, operational reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative environment, you will gain exposure to how operational excellence, risk awareness, and service come together within a regulated financial services organization.
Throughout the internship, you will strengthen your ability to analyze information, follow structured processes, communicate clearly, manage priorities, and deliver accurate results. What you have
Required Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a higher education degree and expected to graduate after August 2027
  • Able to attend the internship in person, onsite in Austin or Westlake, TX from June 6 2027 through August 6 2027
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship
  • Demonstrated ability to review information carefully, identify inconsistencies, and produce accurate work through coursework, projects, employment, leadership activities, or extracurricular involvement
  • Ability to follow structured processes, exercise sound judgment, and determine appropriate next steps when resolving business challenges
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document work clearly and collaborate effectively with others
  • Ability to manage commitments, meet deadlines, and demonstrate ownership and accountability for assigned responsibilities
  • Ability to learn new systems, business processes, and operational procedures quickly in a dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Interest in operations, business process management, financial services, risk management, or related business functions
  • Previous internship, work, volunteer, campus leadership, or project experience demonstrating reliability, professionalism, and initiative
