Job description

Senior Risk Associate (Global Payments Network)

Successful Senior Risk Associates are highly motivated professionals with excellent project, process and communication skills. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to Capital One.

This role will be hired as a Capital One associate but will play a critical part in project execution and delivery for Discover Financial Services as part of our integration effort.

The Global Payment Network Complaint BRIC team provides oversight and support for the Network Complaint management program across Discover's three schemes (Discover Network, Diners Club International and PULSE).

Responsibilities:

  • Program development and ongoing enhancements,

  • Developing monthly reporting for leadership oversight and timely action.

  • Performing trend analysis to identify any systemic or recurring issues and ensure appropriate action is taken.

  • Provide excellent service to both business partners and the ERM organization

  • Execute processes and deliverables that support internal team governance processes

  • Deliver on a subset of the program deliverables including drafting communications, writing and editing policies and procedures, audit remediation responses, etc.

  • Create, edit and manage multiple facets of risk reporting

  • Manage tasks and activities related to risk management initiatives

  • Support risk teams with ad-hoc deliverables and investigations

  • Initiating and executing process improvements and leveraging other team members when appropriate

  • Specific Responsibilities for the team include Third Party Risk Management, Business Continuity, Crisis Management, Operational Risk Scenarios, Resolution Planning and responding to audits,

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and key first line of defense contacts at varying levels within the organization

  • Providing the first line of defense with methodology guidance relative to risk assessment programs

  • Monitor and govern adherence to assessment program elements

  • Provide reporting on assessment results

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in Project Management, or Business Process, or Risk Management

  • At least 1 year of experience using Google Suite or Microsoft Office products

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 3+ years of experience in Project or Business Process, or Risk Management

  • Certified Risk Manager (CRM) or BC (Business Certification)

  • At least 3+ years of experience creating and maintaining information in Google Suite Products (Slides, Sheets)

Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
