Position Summary

Reporting to the Plant Director, the Operations Manager is responsible for executing the production plan through optimal utilization of labor, materials, and equipment to meet production targets and manufacturing objectives. This role oversees a $14M operation with 4 direct reports.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Lead a "Zero and Beyond" safety culture, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and company standards while supporting Corporate Social Responsibility efforts
  • Execute daily, weekly, and monthly production targets with a focus on cost, efficiency, and throughput optimization
  • Manage material flow, factory constraints, and bottlenecks to maximize operational performance and inventory efficiency (RM, WIP, FG) in partnership with Supply Chain
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Tier communication, and 6S methodologies to resolve root causes and improve performance
  • Partner cross-functionally:
    • Engineering - process improvements and productivity goals
    • Maintenance - preventive maintenance and equipment reliability
    • Quality - in-process controls, scrap reduction, and customer standards
  • Lead and develop teams, including training, performance management, and employee relations in alignment with collective agreements, company policy, and labor regulations
  • Administer company policies and ensure consistent application of pay, promotion, and disciplinary processes
  • Analyze KPIs and performance data to drive data-based decisions and continuous improvement actions
  • Champion manufacturing objectives through strong project management, including leading deployment of high-level programs (safety, quality, operational initiatives)
  • Facilitate organizational change with strong communication across all levels
  • Perform other duties as required

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
  • 7-10 years of management experience; manufacturing environment preferred
  • Excellent communication skills

Required (Must-Have)

  • Demonstrated management and leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong background in continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen)
  • Proven experience leading projects or deploying large-scale programs, particularly in operations, safety, or quality
  • Ability to drive execution and results in a fast-paced, complex environment
  • Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple complex priorities with attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills (including presentations and tools such as Microsoft Teams)

Preferred (Nice-to-Have)

  • Experience in extrusion or cable manufacturing processes (highly preferred)
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification (Green Belt/Black Belt)
  • Experience with ERP/MES systems (SAP experience is a plus)
