Job description

Manage and oversee all audit functions to support automotive standards including IATF. Design and implement long-term progressive Quality strategies and objectives that support the Company's vision, mission, values, and long-term objectives. Responsible for establishing a proactive total quality management system from supplier to internal to customer quality associated with the manufacture of magnet wire products.

  • Ensures appropriate resolution and implementation of corrective action for customer quality issues.
  • Champions operational excellence initiatives.
  • Oversees roll-out of operational excellence initiatives and Six Sigma / Lean training and projects.
  • Prioritizes project selection to ensure bottom line results are achieved.
  • Partners with the Technology Team to support expanding business lines and innovations in technology.
  • Leads by example in health and safety.


Duties and Responsibilities
1. Participates in the establishment of strategic and tactical goals with the management team. Provides leadership and direction to quality and operational excellence personnel with the establishment of clear goals and objectives aligned with the plant's business plan.
2. Oversees the quality system and ensures timely follow up of actions related to internal and external audit findings. Ensures compliance with customer product specifications. Addresses customer quality complaints and issues, ensuring proper root cause analysis and follow up on implementation of corrective actions. Drives continuous improvement in all quality metrics (supplier, internal and customer).
3. Oversees and leads continuous improvement initiatives/project selection and implementation. Mentors plant staff, supervisors, and technical support in operational excellence concepts.
Ensures projects meet needs and deadlines defined in the AOP or ongoing throughout the year.
Ensures teams are selected and trained to complete project goals
Ensures use of Operational Excellence tools to assist in defining target conditions and continuously improving in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and delivery.
Ensures team-based problem-solving approaches lead to gains in these areas.
4. Maintains operating budget for the quality/OpX department.
5. Leads and/or participates in plant-wide committees including but not limited to Quality and Safety & Environmental Committee.
