Part-Time Sistema Site Director
Location: American Preparatory Academy - Draper Campuses
Program: Sistema Utah After-School Music Program

Job Summary
Join our award-winning Sistema Utah program! We are dedicated to transforming lives through music education. Following a successful first year at our Draper campuses, we are seeking an organized, high-energy Site Director to lead our after-school program operations starting this August.
Partnered with American Preparatory Academy, Sistema Utah provides children in grades K-6 with a vibrant after-school experience combining instrumental music instruction, academic support, choral singing, outdoor play, and nutritious snacks. Patterned after the global El Sistema movement, our program has fostered creativity, discipline, and community in Utah for over 10 years.
Position Overview
As the Site Director, you will manage the essential day-to-day operations of the Draper campus, oversee the front desk, and serve as the primary leadership contact for parents, students, and instructors during after-school hours. You will work closely with the Operations Director to ensure a safe, efficient, and excellent program that aligns with Sistema Utah's mission of youth development through music.
Duties & Responsibilities
Program Operations: Manage daily program logistics, ensuring all students and visitors are accounted for and in their designated classes or activities.
Check-in & Dismissal: Manage student check-in, and supervise secure student checkout/dismissal protocol (ending at 5:30 PM).
Staff & Schedule Coordination: Coordinate schedules for teaching artists, support staff, and substitutes.
Attendance, Records & Registration: Maintain highly accurate records for daily student enrollment, attendance tracking, and fee payments. Assist parents and students with the program registration process.
Community Engagement: Act as the primary on-site liaison for parents, visitors, and school administrators; assist with student recruitment efforts.
Student Care: Ensure a safe environment, provide basic first aid for students when necessary, and handle student behavior management alongside instructors.
Leadership Collaboration: Partner directly with the Operations Director to evaluate program effectiveness, implement curriculum, and complete daily room resets by the 6:00 PM shift end.
Qualifications
  • Highly energetic, positive, and exceptionally organized with strong leadership and team-management skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage, motivate, and support a team of teaching artists.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience in educational leadership, program coordination, or after-school care is highly preferred.
  • A passion for youth development and community music programs.
  • Being a musician with proficiency in voice or an instrument is preferred, but not required.
  • Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Shift Hours & Schedule
This position follows the APA school calendar, running every school day:
  • Monday, Tuesday, Friday: 2:45 PM - 6:00 PM
  • Wednesday, Thursday: 1:45 PM - 6:00 PM
  • Total weekly hours: Approximately 18 hours per week.
  • This is a school-year-only position beginning in August and ending in May and will include a mandatory training week.
Compensation
  • Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour (Dependent on Experience and Education)
