Job description

Role Name: Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)
Location: Las Vegas, NV (ONSITE - Local Candidates Only)
Duration: 6 Months

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain corporate Oracle databases ensuring data integrity, security, retention, and recoverability
  • Design, build, test, and deploy database solutions aligned with project objectives and departmental standards
  • Administer enterprise-wide data architecture and implement complex data structures
  • Create and manage database objects from design to deployment, optimizing for availability, efficiency, and recoverability
  • Evaluate Oracle patch releases, manage change requests, and deploy approved changes to production environments
  • Provide 24x7 rotational on-call support including RCA, preventative actions, and participation in operations reviews
  • Proactively monitor databases and resolve issues
  • Perform database and PL/SQL optimization, query tuning, and performance improvements
  • Participate in enterprise system enhancement projects and Oracle database design decisions
  • Implement and support high availability architectures (Data Guard, RAC, hot standby databases)
  • Collaborate with development teams to design database solutions meeting business requirements
  • Create and maintain documentation for databases and data architecture
  • Support nightly ETL processing and perform proactive capacity planning
  • Develop and enforce database security policies and procedures

Required Skills & Competencies:
  • BS/BA in a related technical discipline
  • 3+ years of Oracle DBA experience on Oracle Database 10g, 11g, or 12c
  • Experience with multiple OS platforms (Windows, Linux)
  • Database backup experience using RMAN with RMAN Catalog
  • Expertise with Oracle Data Guard and OEM Grid Control, EMREP, OMS; tools like Toad, Spotlight, or similar
  • Strong PL/SQL and UNIX/Linux Shell scripting skills
  • Strong SQL and PL/SQL design, development, tuning, and debugging skills
  • Experience with Oracle Security Administration
  • Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and adapt to fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication, troubleshooting, organizational, and analytical skills

Preferred Skills:
  • Oracle certifications (OCP)
  • Experience with Oracle Streams or database replication
  • Security and compliance knowledge (Encryption, Audit, Authentication, PCI, GLBA, SOX)
  • Experience supporting Oracle RAC environments and ASM
  • Data modeling experience with Oracle Data Modeler, Erwin, Toad, Visio, etc.
