Job description

The Signal Hill power plant is strategically located in Wichita County, Texas, near the rapidly expanding Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area. This 77 MW electric power generation facility utilizes GE gas combustion turbines, along with associated heat recovery steam generators and an ABB steam generator. Signal Hill plays a critical role in supplying power to the ERCOT market during periods of peak demand and supply volatility. The facility was honored with the 2014 Certificate of Recognition by the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, for its outstanding achievements in environmental excellence, including pollution prevention, waste minimization, and water conservation.
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Plant Manager to oversee the operations of the Signal Hill power plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power plant management and a commitment to operational excellence, safety, and environmental stewardship. As Plant Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of the facility, while maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of plant operations, including safety, maintenance, production, and personnel management.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations, and promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Monitor plant performance and implement strategies to optimize efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with ERCOT and other stakeholders to ensure the plant meets market demands during peak periods and supply volatility.
  • Develop and manage the plant's budget, including forecasting and controlling operational costs.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Plant Technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in plant operations, maintenance practices, and environmental performance.
  • Maintain strong relationships with local authorities, regulatory agencies, and the community.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant power industry experience, such as experience as a Power Plant Manager or in a comparable power generation leadership role, in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven experience in power plant management, with a strong understanding of gas turbine and steam generator operations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ERCOT market operations and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence.
