Job Description
McLaughlin Research Corporation (MRC) is seeking a highly qualified Senior Operations Analyst (Operations Analyst III) to support our mission-critical naval operations. This position is located on-site in Newport, RI, working directly alongside the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division Newport.
We are looking for a technical leader to apply advanced analytical methods from mathematics, science, and engineering to manage large organizational data, resource allocations, and undersea warfare tactics. The ideal candidate brings extensive leadership within NUWC or NAVSEA structures, specifically managing undersea systems, torpedo performance assessments, and live-virtual-constructive modeling and simulation environments.
Apply mathematical modeling, simulation, and stochastic-process models to streamline large-scale defense operations, facilities management, and administrative structures. Serve as a subject matter expert and independent consultant to government clients on undersea vehicle simulations, torpedo test assessment criteria, and weapon programmatic initiatives. Coordinate technical approaches, multi-year integration plans, and resource allocations with military personnel, Fleet commands, Navy resource sponsors, and international partners. Lead the verification, validation, and accreditation (VV&A) workflows for warfare simulation infrastructure, data collection, and tactical employment frameworks. Oversee programmatic and technical problem-solving involving engineering, information technology, staffing, budgets, and hardware/software investments.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor's level degree in an Engineering discipline, Physics or Mathematics
Experience: 15-20 years professional experience in operations research.
Domain Expertise: Comprehensive tactical and operational knowledge of Undersea Sensors, Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW/ASUW), and naval torpedo systems.
Leadership Background: Demonstrated experience working as a Branch Head, Customer Advocate, or Division/Department Head within defense frameworks like NUWC Division Newport.
Security Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance (NATO Secret eligibility preferred).
