Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced , part-time , Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join our team at Memorial Hermann Surgery Center - Southwest. This role is essential to ensuring safe and efficient surgical care. The ideal candidate has strong clinical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced OR setting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the operating room and ensure all necessary equipment and instruments are available and functioning.
  • Assess patients before surgery, verify consents, and address any immediate concerns.
  • Serve as a circulating nurse during procedures, ensuring adherence to sterile techniques and patient safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Monitor patient status intraoperatively and respond promptly to changes.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
  • Follow AORN standards and facility policies consistently.
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement and performance initiatives.
  • Maintain current certifications and complete annual competencies.
