Job Overview: The Systems Engineer will have excellent technical, troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills, and will have a yes I can attitude while asking, what more can I do? They will be eager to learn and do more as well as share their experiences to strengthen the team. This person will be polished and able to communicate technical solutions to non-technical clients. Teal has adopted modern AI-driven toolsincluding Thread and other internal AI platforms. The Systems Engineer is expected to use these tools regularly to improve documentation, streamline troubleshooting, enhance automation opportunities, and elevate overall service delivery.

Essential Functions

  • Follows all company policies and protocols in the normal course of business.
  • Responsible for supporting clients as a member of our high touch team, both on client sites (in the NOVA / DC Metro area) as well as from our office in Dumfries.
  • Responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and servicing our clients' networks and critical systems with a Cloud First mentality.
  • Resolve escalated issues from the Tier II Support and provide technical mentorship to others within the organization.
  • Implementation, troubleshooting, and resolution of various technologies and systems, including by not limited to:
  • Microsoft Azure, Hyper-V, Server Virtualization
  • Microsoft 365 Intune, Conditional Access, Compliance Policies
  • Microsoft Server 2019, 2016, 2012 and other Operating Systems
  • Active Directory Group Policies, and Security
  • Microsoft O365 and M365
  • TCP-IP Networking
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery Solutions
  • Cisco ASA and Meraki Firewalls, VPNs and Security Solutions
  • Systems Management Tools
  • Utilize AI-based productivity and engineering tools, such as Thread, to assist with ticket review, documentation, scripting help, diagnostics, and creation of standardized procedures.
  • Research and document processes to support ongoing projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of paid experience in a similar role, experience in an MSP environment preferred.
  • Highly responsive.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to read/speak/write at a high level. The role requires high level written communication skills.
  • Ability to document work and maintain accurate records.
  • Resourceful the ability to figure things out.
  • Demonstrated technical skillset and experience.
  • Ability to create documentation when needed.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check.
