Job description

Surgical Coordinator

Kindred Hospital Riverside is a 40-bed long-term acute care hospital offering the same in-depth care you would receive in a traditional hospital, but for an extended recovery period. We partner with your physician and offer 24-hour clinical care seven days a week so you can start your journey to wellness. For those who need special care, we offer an eight-bed ICU and one negative pressure room. We are located about 20 miles south east of downtown Riverside, in Perris; with easy driving access to a number of restaurants, grocers and shops.

Job Summary

Responsible to coordinate and supervise the daily activities of the surgical area.

Essential Functions
  • Direct the daily operations of the department including staff scheduling, ensuring the delivery of optimal patient care.
  • Develop new methods to improve existing systems or operations.
  • Assess developmental needs of staff and develop continuing education and quality assurance programs to optimize patient care.
  • Research supplies, instruments and equipment and recommend purchases to the Director.
  • Assist in the selection, training and evaluation of subordinates and initiate personnel actions in accordance with Human Resources policies and organization philosophy.
  • Maintain the necessary level of professional knowledge and technical proficiency in areas of functional responsibility.
  • Complete required continuous training and education, including department-specific requirements.
  • Comply with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, asbestos, and other hazardous substances.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served within the unit.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations
  • Must read, write and speak fluent English
  • Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, word-processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Must have good and regular attendance.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Pay Range: $100K-$127K

Qualifications

Education

  • Associate in Nursing degree.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Valid state license as Registered Nurse.
  • ANOR certification preferred.
  • BLS certification required.

Experience

  • Three years of operating room experience as a Registered Nurse preferred.
