Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level II Trauma Center Operating Room Charge position requiring prior charge experience and a CT or Compact RN license.
Job Details
โ€ข Short term acute care hospital setting within a large health system,
โ€ข Operating Room department at a Level II Trauma Center,
โ€ข Charge RN role,
โ€ข Night shift, 4x10 hours (9:00 PM - 7:30 AM),
โ€ข Weekend work required,
โ€ข Call responsibilities required as needed for the department,
โ€ข Uses Epic for charting,
Job Requirements
โ€ข Active RN license (CT or Compact) required prior to start,
โ€ข Current BLS certification required,
โ€ข Minimum 5 years of RN Operating Room experience required,
โ€ข Minimum 3 years of charge RN experience preferred,
โ€ข Trauma Level I and Level II experience required,
โ€ข Prior travel experience required, with a minimum of 3 assignments in Level I Trauma or high trauma settings,
โ€ข Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred,
โ€ข Epic charting experience required,
โ€ข DaVinci Xi and DaVinci V robotic surgery experience,
โ€ข Experience with Hybrid OR and Trauma OR settings,
โ€ข 1 professional reference required for consideration,
Additional Information
โ€ข Perform circulating and scrubbing duties across a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, gynecology, plastics, neurology, trauma, podiatry, cardiovascular, general surgery, orthopedic, endoscopic, robotic, urology, ENT, bariatric, and thoracic procedures,
โ€ข Utilize specialized equipment including cell saver, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords, and Hana Table,
โ€ข Apply professional skills in infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, Universal Protocol (time out) procedures, and urinary bladder catheterization,
โ€ข Participate in emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, latex allergy, and malignant hyperthermia procedures,
โ€ข Obligated to participate in natural disaster or other emergency response activities as needed,
โ€ข Free parking provided as part of a large health system,
โ€ข Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted,
โ€ข COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only,
โ€ข Facility does not accept candidates residing within 75 miles of the hospital,
โ€ข Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler,
โ€ข Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved
