Job description

Operating Room Nurse

Provide direct nursing care, of a highly specialized nature, to patients undergoing major surgical procedures in the Operating Room. Conduct initial perioperative assessment. Review surgeons preference cards for desired medications, equipment, and surgical supplies. Respond to the needs of the surgeon, anesthesia provider, and patient during each surgical procedure. Provide oversight of sedated patients prior, during, and post-procedures. Monitor and utilize simple and highly technical equipment. Function as charge nurse assuming the responsibility for promoting quality, cost-effective nursing care.
