Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

What you will do in this role:

  • Performs all circulating and scrub nurse duties while executing physician preference cards and ensuring rooms are prepped, timed, and terminally cleaned.
  • Verifies complete pre-op checklists, manages case readiness 15 minutes before scheduled times, and delivers detailed intraoperative handoff reports to PACU nurses.
  • Relays laboratory or imaging results to the surgeon and collaborates directly with physicians to accurately track and document all sponges, needles, and instruments.
  • Executes and interprets waived (point-of-care) clinical laboratory tests according to standard hospital protocols, initiating appropriate action based on the results.
  • Tailors nursing techniques across all lifespans—from neonates to geriatrics—safely administering medications, providing family education, and managing emergency or distressed situations.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
  • Current BLS issued from American Heart Association required
  • CNOR is preferred.
  • 1 year of clinical Operating Room experience as a licensed RN in a hospital required.
