Description

We are looking for a Global Private Equity Director to serve as the dedicated client executive for a portfolio of approximately 20 top-tier private equity clients and their majority-owned portfolio companies, while also owning Liberty Mutual's broker partnerships across the Midwest, South Central, and West regions. This role is built around two connected priorities: managing a named book of strategic private equity clients as their primary point of contact across all Liberty Mutual product lines, and driving submissions, new business, and cross-sell opportunities through deep, consultative relationships with the brokers who place and service private equity business in these territories.

Partnering closely with brokers throughout the Midwest, South Central, and West regions, this role represents the full breadth of Liberty Mutual's product suite, spanning Global Risk Solutions (GRS), National Insurance, and North America Specialty (inclusive of Ironshore US), and works hand in hand with senior leaders across all business segments to remove friction, drive ease of doing business, and turn broker relationships into submission flow and closed business. This role leads cross-enterprise marketing, communication, and cross sell initiatives, and acts as the primary escalation point and internal advocate for this top-tier book of business, delivering innovative solutions to complex problems for high priority clients and their broker partners.

Responsibilities:

  1. Serves as client executive for a portfolio of approximately 20 top-tier private equity clients and their majority-owned portfolio companies, acting as their primary point of contact and coordinating engagement across all Liberty Mutual product lines.
  2. Builds and maintains strategic relationships with brokers placing private equity business across the Midwest, South Central, and West regions, representing the full Liberty Mutual brand across all business segments, including Global Risk Solutions (GRS), National Insurance, and North America Specialty (inclusive of Ironshore US).
  3. Drives submission flow and new business opportunities by proactively engaging broker partners, identifying pipeline gaps, and positioning Liberty Mutual's full product suite against market opportunities.
  4. Clearly understands the underwriting appetite and business strategy across all Liberty Mutual segments and articulates and supports these to both clients and broker partners in the private equity marketplace.
  5. Structures and leads cross sell initiatives that align client and broker relationships with regional growth plans and market opportunities.
  6. Leads development of client facing and broker facing marketing communication plans, including communications and events, to strengthen relationships across the region.
  7. Prospects and develops new private equity client and broker relationships across the Midwest, South Central, and West regions, identifying new areas of opportunity and expanding submission activity.

Level of role may vary depending on applicant experience.

If the selected candidate lives within 50 miles of a GRS office, then the selected candidate needs to come into the office two days/week. This policy is subject to change.

Ideally, the selected candidate lives within the Central, Mountain or Pacific Time Zone. Candidates in the Eastern time zone will still be considered.

Qualifications
  • 10+ Years of relevant Insurance Industry experience
  • Underwriting experience
  • Strong relationships with senior leadership at key brokerages
  • Strong understanding of product offerings and relationships with profit center leadership Business development/sales skills
  • Leadership skills – ability to influence without authority Interpersonal/social skills – able to foster trusted relationships
  • People management skills – able to nurture professional growth; fosters team effectiveness
  • Undergraduate degree preferred
  • Private Equity experience is preferred.
  • Travel is approximately 25% but additional travel may be needed.
