Summary:

The Senior Private Equity Broker is responsible for broking new and renewal business on behalf of private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, leading all aspects of placements from initial market strategy through policy delivery. This role focuses on the largest and most complex placements and serves as a senior advisor to private equity sponsors across the full investment lifecycle, including pre-acquisition due diligence, transaction execution, post-close integration, and ongoing portfolio risk optimization. The role also carries leadership responsibility for mentoring team members and cultivating strong carrier, sponsor, and advisor relationships. This role has the potential to work anywhere in the U.S!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively coordinate and manage broking activities around renewals and transactions in accordance with NFP service standards
  • Define and deliver go-to-market strategies for complex placements to achieve optimal client outcomes
  • Lead negotiations with carriers, wholesalers, and specialty markets
  • Carry out placements demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of client risk profiles
  • Partner with account management teams to deliver complete, high-quality submissions and client proposals
  • Develop creative solutions for difficult placement scenarios
  • Partner with account team in presenting proposals and recommendations to clients and internal collaborators
  • Oversee the review of binders and policies for accuracy and alignment with negotiated terms
  • Mentor, support and develop brokers and account management team
  • Maintain strong carrier and wholesale relationships
  • Lead team in driving NFP's broking strategies, including strategic carriers, panels, and preferred wholesaler utilization
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of a variety of P&C risk financing strategies
  • Utilize data and analytics to provide insight and enhance client programs

Private Equity & Transaction Responsibilities:

  • Serve as senior insurance advisor to private equity sponsors and operating partners
  • Lead and support insurance due diligence for acquisitions, including program reviews and gap identification
  • Develop post-close insurance structures and integration strategies
  • Support deal teams with pro formas and accelerated placement execution
  • Advise on portfolio-wide insurance governance and benchmarking
  • Collaborate with legal, tax, and transaction advisors

Coverage Expertise:

Demonstrate expertise across PE-relevant coverages including property, casualty, management liability (D&O, EPLI, fiduciary), cyber, environmental, executive risk, transactional liability, and complex excess structures, coordinating with specialty teams as appropriate.

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and portfolio management skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation capabilities
  • Deep understanding of private equity structures, deal cycles, and sponsor priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage complex, fast-paced workloads.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum seven (7) years of insurance experience, including private equity-backed clients or M&A transactions.
  • Leadership experience preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registration:

  • Active P&C license required
  • Advanced industry designation(s) (e.g. CPCU, CIC, ARM) preferred

The base salary range for this position is $205,000 to $273,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
