Assistant Facility Manager Job Duties:
- Oversees terminal maintenance, heat trace system, housekeeping and documentation / records up keep as directed by the Facility Manager.
- Ensure safe and efficient handling of trucks, barges, and railcars.
- Delegate facility employee work assignments as directed by Facility Manager.
- Assist Facility Manager in maintaining training manuals, identifying employee training regulatory requirements, and maintaining records.
- Implements the on-the-job training program for facility personnel, as appropriate to include the evaluation of tasks and skills.
- Schedule facility safety and refresher training meetings on a regular basis.
- Assist Facility Manager in shift scheduling, overtime scheduling and employee concerns or issues.
- Oversee operation of facility in absence of Facility Manager and assume his responsibilities.
- Assist in disciplinary problems (absenteeism, tardiness, etc.)
- Monitor terminal operations (example: heater and boiler reports, tank temperatures).
- Complete daily paper work, and distribute per distribution list.
- Know how to perform required laboratory tests for certification of products.
- Coordinate with sales on barge scheduling, inventory, blending and special projects.
- Communicate with Coast Guard concerning barge arrivals and transfers.
- Ensure outside contractors meet standards as established by Local, State, Federal or corporate agencies or groups.
- Any other duties or tasks as may be assigned by Management.
Operator Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED, good math skills, and possess leadership qualities.
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge of all facility operations in every facet
- General knowledge of safety and environmental regulations on local, state,
federal, and company levels
