Per Diem APRN/NP and/or PA – Cardiovascular Unit – Waterbury, Connecticut

UConn Health/Waterbury Hospital is seeking an experienced Per Diem APRN/NP or Physician Assistant (PA) for day & nocturnist shifts in the Cardiovascular Unit.

Provide independent, high-quality critical care for cardiac and cardiothoracic patients, assist with pre- and post-operative management, and support patient transitions across the care continuum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage inpatients on cardiac and cardiothoracic services under attending supervision
  • Care for patients with myocardial infarction, acute coronary syndromes, post-op open-heart procedures, and mechanical support devices (IABP, Impella)
  • Perform comprehensive assessments, order tests, interpret hemodynamics, and participate in advanced procedures
  • Educate patients, families, and staff while collaborating with the interprofessional team

Requirements:

  • Current Connecticut APRN/PA license with DEA and controlled substance registration
  • Minimum 2 years’ APP experience preferred
  • Experience with first-assist capabilities preferred
  • Strong cardiovascular clinical expertise and communication skills
