Description

Manage and supervise sort operations and third party Owner Operators.
Manage a group of unionized employees and Owner Operator Contractors.
Create a positive work environment, building employee loyalty and a team atmosphere.
Responsible for achieving objectives as outlined in the operational scorecard.
Responsible for managing performance of employees as per operational standards and indices.
Improve operational standards through reviews of employee performance, coaching, counseling and recognition.
Responsible for communicating and implementing policy, procedure or programs.
Responsible for completing a variety of reports and documents.
All other related and assigned duties.

Additional Responsibilities

Additional duties as required. 

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Post-secondary education is preferred but not mandatory
Experience
  • 3-5 years of management experience, ideally within a unionized environment
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license or equivalent
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Demonstrated experience with following and enforcing Health & Safety and Labour Canada regulations and guidelines 
  • Prior leadership experience managing warehouse employees, couriers or transportation personnel
  • High proficiency English (oral and written)
  • Must be adaptable and willing to work flexible hours to meet the demands of the operation

 

Language Requirement: Proficiency in English is required for this position due to the frequent communications that must be conducted in English with various stakeholders. This requirement is justified by the nature of the responsibilities and operational needs.
