Job Summary:

Drive a winning culture through respect for people. Lead a team of braze trainers and assist in managing braze training initiatives with a focus on quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the mission of the Quality & Engineering team.
  • Maintain currency in manual brazing capabilities.
  • Help drive the team to create and follow Standard Work that enables maintaining a safe environment and a zero-defect product.
  • Serve as the supervisor of a small team of braze trainers.
  • Foster an environment where employees are treated with respect and dignity, there's an emphasis on communication and business goals, and accomplishments and activities in support of operating objectives are actively clarified.
  • Evaluate and improve the skills and performance of braze trainers and brazers.
  • Create an environment that promotes career development by motivating team members to share their career goals and assisting them with forming a plan to meet those goals.
  • Promote lean cultural transformation, 5S program, usage of value stream tools and visual factory.
  • Encourage employees to perform safely and to their highest ability by acknowledging their efforts and rewarding them accordingly.
  • Work with Team Leaders to build a sense of community within teams by promoting a team environment, actively listening to employees needs and providing coaching where necessary.
  • Integrate processes, teams, people, and resources to achieve daily and long-term operating objectives in safety, quality, customer delivery, costs and people development.
  • Consistently apply Trane policies and procedures.
  • Foster interdepartmental relationships and coordinate with other supervisors to facilitate operations, activities and events
  • Facilitate meetings with multifunctional groups including corporate representatives

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in manual brazing.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a braze trainer
  • Must have a clear understanding of servant leadership and the capability to be a servant first.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to lead by example and positively influence and inspire others to meet goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate goals, strategy and vision, address and resolve difficult issues, work effectively in a team environment and lead with little direct supervision.
  • Experience in setting performance goals and providing feedback.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.
  • Must have the flexibility to work more than 40 hours per week and flex schedule to support training needs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Perform tasks requiring hand and eye coordination, with good hand dexterity (gripping and pinching repetitively) for more than 2/3's of work shift
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing 10 pounds continuously, 25 pounds repetitively and 50 pounds occasionally. Lifting or carrying objects over 50 pounds requires a two person lift, or a lift assist
  • Bend, twist, squat, kneel, and/or stoop repetitively 6 to 8 hours per day
  • Reach overhead repetitively for more than 2/3's of work shift
  • Stand continuously for 8 to 10 hours per day
  • Climb up and down stairs up to 3 hours per day
  • Use of senses to detect quality defects and unsafe conditions
  • Basic visual requirements for precision work
  • Moderate physical exertion
