DIRECTOR OF SALES (DOS)
Nashville, Tennessee | Full-Time
Full-Service
REQUIRED
Candidates MUST have current or previous Director of Sales or senior hotel sales leadership experience within a full-service branded hotel.
Experience with IHG, Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, Wyndham, or other comparable full-service hotel brands is strongly preferred.
This is NOT a catering-only, restaurant sales, event-only, or marketing role.
THE ROLE
seeking a dynamic, results-driven Director of Sales to lead the hotel's commercial strategy and drive total revenue performance across all market segments.
We're looking for a visible leader who combines strategic thinking with hands-on selling to grow market share, build strong client relationships, and position the hotel for long-term success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the overall hotel sales strategy across:
• Corporate Transient
• Group Sales
• SMERF
• Association
• Government
• Sports & Entertainment
• Tour & Travel
• Local Negotiated Accounts
• Catering & Social Business
Drive proactive outbound sales efforts, prospecting, networking, and account development.
Develop and execute annual sales and marketing plans aligned with revenue goals.
Partner closely with Revenue Management to optimize:
  • Pricing strategy
  • Forecasting
  • Pace management
  • Market segmentation
  • Inventory optimization
  • RevPAR growth

Build demand during need periods while maximizing business mix and profitability.
Develop strong relationships with local corporations, meeting planners, convention organizations, sports organizations, and community partners throughout the Nashville market.
Represent the hotel at industry events, networking functions, trade shows, and community organizations.
Lead weekly sales strategy meetings and maintain accountability for sales production and performance.
Monitor STR reports, market share, pace, production reports, and competitive intelligence to identify opportunities and drive results.
Recruit, coach, develop, and inspire a high-performing sales team focused on exceeding revenue goals.
Collaborate with Operations to ensure a seamless experience from contract through guest arrival and event execution.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 5+ years of hotel sales leadership experience
• Current or previous Director of Sales or Assistant Director of Sales experience within a full-service branded hotel
• IHG experience strongly preferred
• Nashville market experience preferred but not required
• Demonstrated success driving:
  • RevPAR
  • ADR
  • Occupancy

• Strong understanding of:

  • Revenue Strategy

• Experience partnering closely with Revenue Management.
• Proficiency with Delphi, Delphi.fdc, Opera, CI/TY, or comparable hotel sales and CRM systems preferred.
• Strong leadership, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
