Hyatt Regency Minneapolis seeks a Finance leader who demonstrates a growth mindset and ready to grow their career, supporting the Director of Finance in overseeing the day-to-day operations and contributing to strategic financial planning to deliver on key priorities for all stakeholders in achievement of business objectives.You will be part of a team that is committed to nurturing curiosity and new skills, and building connections across the organization with stakeholders, colleagues and guests.
The Assistant Director of Finance supports the Director of Finance in overseeing all financial operations of the hotel, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and adherence to financial regulations and standards. This position is responsible for the oversight of the hotel's Finance Department's day-to-day operations, maintaining internal controls, partnering with managers on expense management and general ledger operations, providing training to finance team members and special projects as assigned, in line with Hyatt Corporate standards while meeting guest and owner expectations. Other responsibilities will include the following:
  • Prepare and review all journal entries, month-end reports, and reconciliations.
  • Review preliminary financial statements with Director of Finance
  • Participate in monthly financial reviews and support Director of Finance with the presentation of these reports.
  • Supervise Finance and Procurement staffand the Information Technology functions of the hotel including coaching and counseling associates to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures,interviewing, training, and evaluating performance of staff.
  • Manage and help oversee hotel on and off-site accounting functions to ensure proper fiscal management, timely and accurate reporting, and analysis for the hotel. This responsibility also includes hotel financial planning, budgeting, accounting, and cash management.
  • Systems administration, G/L account reconciliations, budget preparations, inventories, monthly closings, and fullP&L responsibility.
  • Assist with managingand ensuring SOX compliance- monitor internal controls and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Manage the audit process- Participate inand respond to auditor requests to ensuretotal hotel compliance.
  • Help prepare all monthly and annual financial statements. Investigate, review and analyze the variance explanations, involving the department staff in this process. Proactively manage troubleshooting for relevant cost controls and revenue enhancements.
  • Support Director of Finance with special reporting and ad hoc analysis.

This is the pay range for this position at Hyatt Regency Minneapolis reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors including experience and education.

Qualifications:
  • 3 years or more of finance career progression; preferred experience in hospitality, retail, or related industry.
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality, Business or related field preferred.
  • Experience supervising/directing staff members.
  • Prior POS (Simphony, Infrasys), PMS (Opera), Oracle, ADP/Enterprise, Kronos, expertise desired.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
