Job description

Overview
Nakupuna Consulting is seeking a Quality Engineer IV to provide software testing, data collection and analysis, subject matter expertise, and mentorship supporting the execution of a large size, multi-year contract to the Integrated Personnel and Pay System - Army (IPPS-A) Army Military Payroll (AMP. The Quality Engineer IV will conduct quality testing on the PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) deliverables to ensure optimal functions for the Army client. The Quality Engineer IV will be responsible for assessing software functionality and performance through both manual and automated testing, where necessary. The Quality Engineer IV will gather and compile test metric data. Using this data, they may draft reports on the functionality and performance of the software for AMP and may distribute these reports to other senior managers. These performance reports may also be delivered to the Army client. The Quality Engineer IV should be comfortable working in an agile environment, resolving complex problems if and when they arise. While the Quality Engineer IV will be capable of solving the most complex problems without much assistance from other team members, collaboration with the various Agile Teams will be a common aspect of the position, and the Quality Engineer IV should be comfortable with data sharing and information sharing across teams. As a senior engineer, mentorship of junior staff-members may also be part of this position, and the Quality Engineer IV should be willing to coach team members across the AMP program.
Responsibilities

  • Reviews software requirements and specifications to develop testing strategies for a product or release.
  • Builds reusable test functions or components.
  • Executes manual as well as automated tests where necessary to assess software functionality and performance using multiple systems, platforms, environments, or browsers.
  • Identifies, logs, and tracks defects.
  • Reports technical issues to development or product management teams and verifies fixes.
  • Compiles, update, maintains, and distribute test metrics.
  • Performs work with a high degree of latitude.
  • Handles the most complex issues.
  • Possesses solid working knowledge of Quality Engineering processes.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.
  • May act as lead or first-level supervisor.

Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of experience within the federal government, DoD, Army, or IC and/or private sector preferred. Must have experience with Software Testing applications such as Azure Dev Ops (ADO), OpenText UFT, LoadRunner, PeopleSoft, or other ERP experience a plus.
Skills/Qualifications: Certifications in IAT Level II and SAFe for Teams preferred. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Needs great interpersonal/communication skills. Able to translate customer requirements to team goals.
Clearance Requirements: This position requires a current Secret clearance. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Work Location: Work location will be in Arlington, Virginia 2 days on-site with a hybrid option. Occasional travel may be required.
The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $126,000.00 to $185,000.00 (annualized USD). The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
