Position Summary:
Working alongside the Business Development Managers, the Business Development Solutions Architect (BDSA) is responsible for the technical development of our technology alliance partnerships. The BDSA will assist in the recruitment and development of partners through new solution development, product demonstrations, technical presentations, and on-site product installation, training, and support. Moderate National and occasional International travel required.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • The BDSA will own and drive the technical component of the F5 alliance partnerships, including working with technologies from a range of application partners such as Cisco, SAP, Analytics, DevopS & Orchestration partners to name a few
  • Work directly with the partner to develop innovative solutions using the F5 solution set & advanced F5 technologies such as iRules, iAPP, iControl, and REST.
  • Take a lead role in working directly with Partner on solution development and assist with their lab installation and configuration of F5 products. Serve as a technical expert and evangelist for F5 products.
  • Provide subject matter expertise regarding partner applications and integrated solutions to Sales, Product Management, Support and Technology Center.
  • Communicate joint solution requirements to product management and product development.
  • Assist BDM's in qualifying prospective partnership opportunities, and conducting product demonstrations and technical presentations remotely or at partner locations/F5 facilities.
  • Work with the Partner independently or assisted by the BDM to develop and review of joint solution technical collateral, including presentations & documentation.
  • Drive awareness of developed solutions through social media, trainings, presentations, demonstrations, and attending relevant events & tradeshows
  • For the joint solutions, conduct POCs (Proof of Concept), product demonstrations, and technical presentations for strategic customers and partners. Collaborate with Sales and product management.

Qualifications:
  • 7+ years experience in technical sales/marketing engineer role
  • BA/BS preferred. MS is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge L4-L7 technologies such as Load Balancing, VPN, firewall, IDS/IPS systems, next-gen firewall, web application firewall, and SSL
  • Knowledge of DevOPs configuration management tools
  • Knowledge of analytics as used by various operations teams within IT
  • Strong knowledge and experience with designing and implementing enterprise network architectures with great hands on expertise.
  • Knowledge of containers, SDN, openstack and latest data center technologies is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with ability to articulate complex technology in a simple fashion
  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and solve technical problems.
  • Self-motivated and flexible.
  • Experience and familiarity with a broad range of application product offerings from vendors such Microsoft, SAP is a big plus.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table. Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material.
  • Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).
  • Duties may require the ability to travel via automobile or airplane, approximately 20% of the time spent traveling.
  • Job may be performed on-site at a customer facility or data center, or in an office environment sitting at a desk or computer table.
  • Job requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

The annual base pay for this position is: $193,600.00 - $290,400.00
