Job Description

Position: Openstack Engineer

Location: Wilmington, DE

Duration: 1+ year contract

- MUST DO A "MEET AND GREET" IN PERSON AFTER THE TECHNICAL INTERVIEW

- MUST HAVE

o 5 years of experience with cloud to infrastructure interaction, network, storage, etc.

o 5 years of openstack engineering

o Experience configuring openstack, nova, glance, keystone.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project team engagement: Work with dozens of project teams to understand the technical needs of the project as it pertains to running in a cloud and guide them on the best approach. Then work with the Rackspace team to review recommendations and ensure it gets implemented properly.

Onboarding new applications: Review new application onboarding requests to ensure the requests are reasonable, that the compute nodes have the capacity to handle the workload and determine if the proper flavor of guest VMs are being used.

Collaborate with the Rackspace Engineers to review enhancements and upgrades to the Openstack ecosystem.

Ensure all solutions meet Barclays strict security standards.

Setup and use monitoring tools to track service availability and system capacity.

Resolve matters escalated by Level 1 and 2 support staff. High Severity issues may require attention after normal business hours.

Facilitate Root Cause Analysis sessions after Production incidents occur
