Job description


Position Summary:
The School of Education seeks applications from individuals who are interested in securing temporary instructor positions within the Educator Preparation program for the 2026-2027 academic year. Instructors teach undergraduate pre-service teaching courses in one or more areas of:
  • PreK - Grade 3: Early Childhood Education
  • Kindergarten - Grade 12: Art, Foreign Languages, Instructional Technology; Music
  • Secondary - Grades 7-12: Agricultural Education, Business Education, English, Family and Consumer Studies, Marketing Education, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Speech, Technology Education.

Desirable candidates can teach these courses face-to-face, online, on-campus, and in local schools in areas of their expertise and are hired periodically for fall, spring, and/or summer term, contingent upon enrollments and need. Reappointment may depend upon performance and the availability of funding. Salary Range:
$48,000 - $50,000
Compensation:
$1,666.67 per credit hour instruction / $50,000 annual base salary
Conditions of Employment
Pre-employment criminal background check (required for new hires).
Required Job Qualifications:
  • Earned masters degree in education or a related field.
  • P-12 teaching license and/or a minimum of 3 years professional work experience in P-12 teaching or administration.

Preferred Job Qualifications:
  • Earned doctorate degree in education or a related field.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate students using face-to-face and distance technologies.
  • Evidence of successful collaboration with public school teachers and administrators.
  • Experience in course development.
  • Evidence of or potential for scholarship and publication commensurate with a research university (high research activity).
